How do I store received faxes into my Brother machine's memory?

You can store incoming faxes in your Brother machine's memory by turning on the Fax Storage feature.

When Fax Storage is on, your Brother machine will also automatically print backup copies of your faxes as they are received. This is a precautionary feature that ensures you will not lose your messages in the event of a power failure.

Your Brother machine's LCD will indicate when you have a fax stored in memory.

TURNING FAX STORAGE ON

  1. Press MENU/SET and choose Fax => Remote Fax Opt => Fax Storage.
  2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select On.
  3. Press the MENU/SET key.
  4. Press the STOP/EXIT key.

Color faxes cannot be stored in your Brother machine's memory.  If you receive a color fax while Fax Storage is on, your Brother machine will just print the fax.

TURNING FAX STORAGE OFF

  1. Press MENU/SET and choose Fax => Remote Fax Opt => Fax Storage.
  2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Off.
  3. Press the MENU/SET key.
  4. Press the STOP/EXIT key.

If there are faxes in memory when you turn Fax Storage off, your Brother machine's LCD will ask you the following question:
"Erase all fax?"

Do one of the following:

  • Press 1 to select "Yes," erase all stored fax data, and turn Fax Storage off.

  • Press 2 to select "No," keep the faxes stored in memory, and leave Fax Storage on.

PRINTING FAXES FROM MEMORY

  3. Press the STOP/EXIT key.
