Comparison Chart of Sewing Materials, Threads and Needles

To check the needle correctly, place the flate side of the needle on a flat surface

(1) Back (flat side)       (2) Front       (3) Groove       (4) Flat surface

 

(5) Place the flat side of needle on a flat surface and check that the distance between the needle and the flat surface is even.

 

 

The sewing machine needle that should be used depends on the material and thread thickness.

Refer to the following table when choosing the thread and needle appropriate for the material that you wish to sew.
