2-color Printing is not possible.

  • For 2-color printing, make sure that the Black/Red on White DK roll is installed.
  • If you use the Black/Red on White DK roll for monochrome printing, you need to activate the [2-color Mode]/[2-color [Black/Red]] settings on each application. For details, refer to the following.

Configuring using P-touch Editor for Windows

 

Express mode

 

  1. Select Paper [Paper], then the 2-color mode appears.

  2. Select [Black/Red] for [2-color mode], then [Two-color media was selected. Switching to "Print Color Display".] appears.
    Click [OK].

  3. Select [Text] to edit the color of the text.
    Select [Frame] to edit the color of the frame.

    • Use Paper [Sets Text Color for Selected Text] to edit the color of the text.
    • Use fill color [Changes the fill color] to edit the color to fill an enclosed area with.
    • Use Line Color [Changes the color of the line] to edit the color of the line.
    • Use Background Color [Changes the background color of the object] to edit the background color of the object.
To check whether the dedicated DK roll for 2-color printing is installed in the printer, click Detect Size and Colors [Detect Size and Colors] in [Media Size] of [Paper]. When the dedicated DK roll for 2-color printing is installed in the printer, [2-color mode] is turned to [Black/Red] automatically. If an error message appears, the DK roll for monochrome printing is installed. Replace it with the dedicated DK roll for 2-color printing.

 

Professional mode

 

  1. Click Paperto expand the [Paper] tab.

  2. Click Monochrome [Monochrome] and select [Black/Red].

  3. [Two-color media was selected. Switching to "Print Color Display"] appears. Click [OK].

  4. Click [View] and select [Property Palette] - [Color]. The Color Editing Tool appears.

    • Use Paper [Sets Text Color for Selected Text] to edit the color of the text.
    • Use fill color [Changes the fill color] to edit the color to fill an enclosed area with.
    • Use Line Color [Changes the color of the line] to edit the color of the line.
    • Use Background Color [Changes the background color of the object] to edit the background color of the object.
  • The brightness, contrast and threshold (range of red) can be adjusted through the driver Settings.
  • The Black/Red Print density can be adjusted through the Printer Setting Tool.
  • You cannot select High Resolution mode when using 2-color printing.

To check whether the dedicated DK roll for 2-color printing is installed in the printer, click Detect Size and Colors [Detect Size and Colors]. When the dedicated DK roll for 2-color printing is installed in the printer, [2-color mode] is turned to [Black/Red] automatically. If an error message appears, the DK roll for monochrome printing is installed. Replace it with the dedicated DK roll for 2-color printing.

 

Configuring using P-touch Editor 5.2 or later for Mac

 

  1. Select [××mm Black/Red] for [Print Media].
    Click [Text] to edit the text and select [Color] to change the color of the text.

    • Use Frame [Frame] to edit the color of the frame.
    • Use Symbol [Symbol] to edit the color of the symbol.
    • Use Shape [Shape] to edit the color of the drawing.
    • Use Table [Table] to edit the color of the table.
  • The brightness, contrast and threshold (range of red) can be adjusted through the driver setting.
  • The Black/Red Print density can be adjusted through the Printer Setting Tool.


Configuring using P-touch Editor 5.1 for Mac

 

Standard mode

 

  1. Press Inspector [Inspector] to open the inspector window.

  2. Click Paper [Paper] in the inspector window and select [ON] for [Two-Color Mode].
    Make sure [BK-RD] is selected for [Print Colors].

  3. Select Text [Text] to edit the text.
    Select [Color] to edit the color of the text.

  4. Click Edit Tools, then the edit tools below appear.
    Standard mode
    • Use Line Color [Line] to edit the color of the line.
    • Use Fill color [Foreground] to edit the color to fill an enclosed area with.
    • Use Background Color [Background] to edit the background color of the object.
  • The brightness, contrast and threshold (range of red) can be adjusted through the driver setting.
  • The Black/Red Print density can be adjusted through the Printer Setting Tool.

 

Configuring using Other Applications for Windows

 

  1. Open the Devices and Printers window, select your printer and right-click it.
    Click [Printer Properties].
  2. Select the [General] tab, then click the [Preferences...] button.
  3. Select [Black/Red] from the [Paper Type] section.

 

Configuring using Other Applications for Mac

 

  1. Click [File], and then select [Print]. The print screen appears.
  2. Click the [Show Details] button. The other print screen appears.
    Click the [Notes] pull down to select [Advanced].
  3. Select [2-Color(Black/Red)] from the [Color] section.
