FAQs & Troubleshooting

The printer automatically turns off when not used for a while.

The Auto Power Off feature may be enabled.
If the Auto Power Off feature is enabled in the RJ Utility, the printer will automatically turn itself off after the selected period of inactivity.

You can disable this feature or specify the amount of time that passes before the printer turns off automatically. To change the setting, start the RJ utility from the Printer Setting Tool. The Printer Setting Tool can be downloaded from the [Downloads] section of this website.

Before using the RJ Utility

  • Connect the printer to an AC or DC power outlet, or make sure that the battery is fully-charged.
  • Make sure that the printer driver has been installed and is functional.
  • Connect the printer to your computer via USB or Bluetooth® (RJ-4030 / RJ-4030Ai only).

 

Follow the steps below to change the Auto Power Off setting:

 

  1. Connect the printer to be configured to your computer.

  2. Start the Printer Setting Tool.
    Refer to "How to use the RJ Utility (for Windows)".

  3. Select the printer and click the [Device Settings] button to open the RJ Utility window.

  4. Check the [Auto Power Off] check box and select your desired setting from the pull-down menu. To disable the Auto Power Off feature, select [None].

  5. Click [Apply] to save the setting in the printer, and then click [Exit] to close the window.
