FAQs & Troubleshooting

The LCD displays an error code when I use Web icon (Brother Web Connect).

Refer to the following chart to check and solve the error code displayed on the LCD.

Error No Error Message Solution
Connection Error 02 Network connection failed. Verify that the network connection is good.

The Brother machine is not connected to a network.

 

  • If the Web button was pressed soon after the machine was turned on, the network connection may not have been established yet. Wait and try again.
     
  • Verify that the network connection is good. If you can not connect to a network, see the Related FAQs at the end of the page.
Connection Error 03 Connection failed to server. Check network settings.

The Brother machine cannot connect to server.

 

  • There is an issue with the network or server. If the Web button was pressed soon after the machine was turned on, the network connection may not have been established yet. Wait and try again.
     
  • Confirm the network settings (Proxy/ Gateway/ DNS/ IP address/ Subnet mask) are correct. If you don't know the settings, verify with your internet service provider or network administrator.
Connection Error 04 Server timed out. Try again later. The server is not responding.

There is an issue with the network. Wait a while and press the Web button again.
Connection Error 05 Authentication failed on connection to server. Check proxy server settings. Proxy server authentication failed.

Verify your Brother machine's account and password at Proxy Settings under Menu. Verify the setting is correct.
Connection Error 06 Connection failed to server. Try again later. There is an issue with the certificate that is necessary to connect to server. Wait a while and press the Web button again.
Connection Error 07 Connection failed to server. Wrong Date&Time. Connection failed to server because date and time settings are incorrect. Set the date and time correctly.

Note: If the machine's power cord is disconnected, the date and time setting may be incorrect.
Connection Error 08 Error (was) occurred while downloading. Start over again. Wait a while and try again.
Server Error 01 Authentication failed. (Authentication is invalid.) Reissue temporary ID, and register account again. The authentication information saved in the machine that is needed to access the service has expired or is invalid. See the Web Connect Guide and apply for Brother Web Connect access again to receive a new temporary ID. Then, use the new temporary ID to register the account to the machine.

Server Error 02 Max Qty of albums reached. Delete unnecessary albums from service using a web browser. Cannot create the album (folder) for upload.
You cannot create the album (folder for upload because the max quantity of albums (folder) has been reached. You can not delete the albums (folder) from the Brother machine. You must delete unnecessary albums (folder) from service using a web browser on a PC.
Server Error 03 Failed to upload. Unsupported file or corrupt data. Confirm data of file. There is an issue with the file you are trying to upload. See the following possible causes:
  • The file exceeds the service's limit on number of pixels, file size, etc.
  • The file type is not supported.
  • The file is corrupted.
Confirm the details of your file and try again.
Server Error 04 Not enough storage is available to upload. Access the service by web browser, and delete unnecessary files.

Failed to upload because the max quantity of uploads has been reached. See the following possible causes:

 

  • You reached your storage limit.
  • You reached the maximum number of files permitted to store.
You cannot delete files from the Brother machine. You must delete unnecessary files from service using a web browser on a PC.
Server Error 05 Failed to upload. Try again. Temporarily Failed to upload. Wait a while and then upload again.
Server Error 06 File association failed. Confirm settings of service using a web browser. The file has successfully uploaded, but failed to enter the album (folder). Enter the file into album using a web browser on a PC.
Server Error 07 User's name was not found. Input user's name correctly. The user's name did not register. Confirm the correct user's name and try again.
Server Error 08 Album was not found. Confirm permission of album.

Album (folder) was not found. See the following possible causes:

 

  • The Album was not registered.
  • The Album exists, but you have been set up with restricted access.
If you want to access to the album, verify the settings with the administrator of album.
Server Error 09 Picture was not found. Select another album. Picture was not found. Choose another album (folder).
Server Error 10 Album/picture was not found. Confirm settings of service using a web browser. The administrator of album/picture may have updated the file and album causing the album/picture to not be found. Wait a while and press the Web button again.
Server Error 11 Picture is not selected. Select one of more. Verify you selected one or more files.
Server Error 12 Failed to access album/picture. Confirm settings of service using a web browser. You don't have authority to access album/ picture. If you want to access album/picture, verify the access settings with the that administrator of album/picture.
Server Error 13 Service temporarily unavailable Try again later.

There is an issue with the service and cannot be used now.

 

  • Wait a while and press the Web button again.
  • Try accessing the service from a computer to confirm if it is available or not.
Authentication Error 01 Incorrect PIN code. Enter PIN correctly. The PIN code registered to the machine is incorrect. The PIN code is the four-digit number that was entered when registering the account to the machine. Enter the correct PIN code.
Authentication Error 02 Incorrect or expired ID. Or this temporary ID is already used. Enter correctly or reissue temporary ID. Temporary ID is valid for 24 hours after it is issued.  
  • The temporary ID that was entered is incorrect. Enter the correct temporary ID.
  • The temporary ID that was entered has expired. A temporary ID is valid for 24 hours. Apply for Brother Web Connect access again and receive a new temporary ID, and then use the new ID to register the account to the machine.
Authentication Error 03 Display name has already been registered. Enter another display name. Your account has already been registered. Enter a different account to your Brother machine.
Registration Error 02 Max Qty of accounts reached. Try again after deleting unnecessary accounts. The maximum number of accounts allowed to be registered has been reached. Delete unnecessary accounts and try again.
Setting Error 01 POP3/SMTP is currently disabled. Please enable the POP3/SMTP feature and try again.

--OR--
E-mail settings are wrong. Please confirm settings of the POP3/SMTP and try again.

POP3/SMTP that is necessary to use E-mail is disabled. Confirm the settings of POP3/SMTP.

Setting Error 02 E-mail address is invalid or incorrect. Please check and try entering the address again. The E-mail address entered is incorrect. Enter the correct E-mail address.
ShortCut Error 02 Account is invalid. Please register account and shortcut again after deleting this shortcut. The shortcut cannot be used because the account was deleted after the shortcut was registered. Delete the shortcut, and then register the account and shortcut again.
