Notes:

If you don't know which version of Windows 7 you are using, 32 bit or 64 bit, please check by following the steps below:
Click Start => Control Panel => System and Security => System, and then check the System type.

The instructions may vary depending on the Windows 7 version.

By installing this driver, the printer icon named "Brother [model name] Printer" or "Brother [model name] series" will be added in the Devices and Printers section.

You must be logged on as an Administrator.
-
If the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Continue.
-
If the Windows Security dialog box appears, check Always trust software from "Brother Industries, ltd.". and click Install.
For Network Shared Printing:
*If your client PC has the same OS as the server PC:
-
Click Start => Control Panel => Hardware and Sound => Devices and Printers => Add a printer.
-
Click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.
-
Click The printer that I want isn't listed.
-
Select Select a shared printer by name and type the Network Printer's Name, e.g. \\server\[model name]
-
Click Next.
-
If the warning message appears, click Install driver.

Click Next.
-
Check Set as the default printer if you want to use your Brother machine as the default printer.
Click Print a test page to check if your machine is working properly.

Click Finish.
*If your client PC has a different OS than the server PC:
NOTE: There are some instances where you should follow the steps above, even if the client PC uses a different OS than that of the server.

Make a temporary folder or directory on your HDD [hard disk drive] as the location to save the downloaded self-extracting file, e.g. C:\brodnt
-
Download the file to the temporary folder or directory.
-
Once the download is complete, open the folder or directory and double click on the downloaded file to extract it.

Click Start => Control Panel => Hardware and Sound => Devices and Printers => Add a printer.

Click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.

Click The printer that I want isn't listed.

Select Select a shared printer by name and type the Network Printer's Name, e.g. \\server\[model name]
-
Click Next.
-
If the Connect to Printer dialog box appears, click OK.

Click Have Disk.

Click Browse and specify the folder created in Step 3.

Click Open.
-
Click OK.
-
Click Next.

Check Set as the default printer if you want to use your Brother machine as the default printer.
Click Print a test page to check if your machine is working properly.

Click Finish.
For Network Printing using TCP/IP (Peer-to-Peer Printing):

Make a temporary folder or directory on your HDD [hard disk drive] as the location to save the downloaded self-extracting file, e.g. C:\brodnt

Download the file to the temporary folder or directory.

Once the download is complete, open the folder or directory and double click on the downloaded file to extract it.

Click Start => Control Panel => Hardware and Sound => Devices and Printers => Add a printer.

Click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.

Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname and click Next.

Type the IP address of your Brother machine and be sure to check off the Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use option.

Click Next.
-
Click Have Disk.

Click Browse and specify the folder created in Step 3.

Click Open.
-
Click OK.

Select the model name and click Next.
Note:
If the model name in the list includes USB in the name of the driver, it is possible to use this driver for network connection.

Type a printer name and click Next.
-
Select Printer Sharing option and click Next.
-
Check Set as the default printer if you want to use your Brother machine as the default printer.
Click Print a test page to check if your machine is working properly.

Click Finish.
For Local Printer:
-

Connect the USB cable.

Click Add a local printer.

Select USB port and click Next.

Click Have Disk.

Click Browse and specify the folder created in Step 3.

Click Open.
-
Click OK.

Select the model name and click Next.
-
Type a printer name and click Next.
-
Select Printer Sharing option and click Next.

If you want to use your Brother machine as the default printer, check Set as the default printer.
Click Print a test page to check if your machine is working properly.

Click Finish.
