Using the QL-1050 Firmware Update Tool

Note:

• The printer driver for QL-1050 must be installed on the computer running this tool.
  If the printer driver is not installed, install it on the computer from the CD-ROM included with QL-1050 before using this tool.
• Carefully read this information and perform the operation according to the instructions.
  In addition, quit all other applications before starting the operation.
• While the firmware is being updated, do not turn off the printer, try to access it through the network or try to print.

Setup

• Check that the printer driver for QL-1050 is installed.
  If it is not installed, install it according to the instructions in the User's Guide.
    
• Using the enclosed USB cable, connect the QL-1050 to the computer, and then turn them on.

Update Procedure Using the QL-1050 Firmware Update Tool
  

1. Click the [Download] button to begin downloading.
     
2. After downloading is finished, double-click the file to expand it.
     
3. Open the expanded folder, and then double-click "D_SETUP.EXE". Click the [Start] button.
     
4. Check that the printer name for Brother QL-1050 appears in the list.
   • If multiple QL-1050 printer drivers are installed on the computer, QL-1050 appears multiple times in the list. Select the QL-1050 that is currently connected.
5. Click the [Update] button to display the confirmation message.
   When the firmware version of the printer and the firmware version to be transferred appear, check them.
   Click the [Yes] button to begin transferring the program.
   It may take a few minutes to transfer the program.
   • Do not operate QL-1050 or disconnect the USB cable until the update operation is completed.
6. When the message "Completed the firmware update for QL-1050." appears, the transfer of the program is finished. Exit the update tool on the computer.

• If an error occurred during the update operation or if the operation was not completed successfully, try performing the operation again from the beginning.
  If the update operation cannot be completed successfully after multiple attempts, check the printer driver settings and the cable connections.
    
• The customer assumes full responsibility for performing the update operation.
