How to Install

  1. Please make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded file. e.g. C:\bront
  2. Start downloading.
  3. Once downloading is completed, double click the downloaded file to extract it.
  4. Click [Start] and select [Printers and Faxes] and click on [Add a printer]. Then click on "Next".
  5. Set "Local printer" or "Network printer" for the target printer and click on "Next".
  6. Click on "Next".
  7. Select a port and click on "Next".
  8. Click on [Have Disk] and type the directory where the extracted files exist or click on [Browse] and click the drop down menu in the DRIVES field and select the directory where the extracted files exist and click on "Open".
  9. Click on "OK".
  10. Select the model name and click on "Next".

    NOTE:
    If "Use Existing Drivers" screen appears, select "Replace existing driver" and click on "Next".
     
  11. Name your printer and click on "Next".
  12. Set "Do not share this printer" or "Share as XXX" and click on "Next".
  13. Click on "Yes" or "No" about Test Print.
  14. Click on "Finish".

    NOTE:
    When installing the Brother printer driver into Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, you may see the following error message on your screen:
    "The software you are installing for this hardware:
    Printers
    has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with this version of Windows."
    Click the "Continue Anyway" button to continue the installation. The driver will be installed onto your system. Then, Click "Finish".
     

 

For people who install USB driver for the first time, please follow the install instructions below.

 

  1. Please make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded self-extracting file. e.g. C:\bront
  2. Start downloading.
  3. Double click on the downloaded file and select the temporary directory to extract it by clicking "Browse" button.
  4. Turn the printer power off and connect your PC and printer with the USB interface cable.
  5. Turn the printer power on.
  6. The Plug & Play dialog box will appear on your PC. Click on "Next".
  7. Click on "Next". (The recommended default setting is correct.)
  8. Check only "Specify a location" and click on "Next".
  9. Select [Browse] and click on the drop down menu in the DRIVES field and select the directory where the extracted files exist.
  10. Click on "Open" and then click on "OK".
  11. Click on "Next".

    NOTE:
    If "Use Existing Drivers" screen appears, select "Replace existing driver" and click on "Next".
     
  12. Select a port, and click on "Next".
  13. Click on "Next".
  14. Click on "Finish".
  15. Click on "Finish".
